RUGBY, October 25. The stock markets opened with an optimistic feeling. Internationals strengthened. Kaffirs were active and firmer, and Home rails were higher on traffic figures anticipations. German, and Japanese bonds were firmer; I'rench, 4 per cent., 23 3/4ths, and 4% per cent. 25 3/4ths. British Government stocks were steady, with 3% per cent. War Loan at £101 17s Gd. '" ' ' Later in the day considerable expansion in business was reported. Gold shares had substantial buying. British funds remained in demand, despite activity in the more speculative section. The 3% per cent. War, Loan closed at £101,. 17s 6d. German, and French loans finished firm, and internationals were firm.
