NATIONAL INSURANCE REPORT

DUNEDIN, This Day
The anual report of the National'lnsurance Company shows that the net income for the year amounted to £235,941. After full provision for losses and underwriting, the surplus totalled £20,545. The directors added £1199 to the taxation account, and £8500 was written oft' the company's premises. ■ Tbcy now recommend the payment of a further dividend of 5d per share, making a total distribution for the year of 9d per share, equalling £37,500, and the carrying forward of £35,588.
