Lancaster, botanist at Auckland University College. The shrub known as blearia haastii seems to grow only on a. few peaks in tho Southern Alps, but in Glasgow it is vory common, Mr. Lancaster said. He had never seen it till lio visited Scotland. Ho saw a hedge or! it at Loch Loniond. It was thought probable that early explorers sent seed to the botanic gardens at Kow, London, where it was propagated mid distributed.
