■ More than 150 people were present at the Technical College courts on Saturday, when the club opened its 1933-34 season. Mr. V Evans, president of the club, introduced Mr. R. G. He referred to the ipleasing condition of affairs in the club itself, and said that the long-awaited pavilion would soon he an established fact, work beginning upon it almost at once. Miss E. Brigden, the lady champion1 of the clnb, served the first ball of the season, a very finely-placed delivery, and afternoon tea. was served in the cafeteria .'by the members of the ladies' committee. Among those present was Mr. E. Howell, a past principal of the college, who was largely responsible for the formation of the club and laying down of the courts. Apologies were received from Mr. W. H.
