DEBIT WIPED OFF
It was. announced at the tvrenty»; second annual general meeting, -today, of the Wellington Cordage Company, Ltd., at which Mr. A. D. Crawford presided, that the past year had beea! satisfactory and1 that the debit. o£ the previous year had- been wiped . out. Speaking on behalf of the board.of directors,, the chairman said' that it was intended in future to . close, tht financial year on March 31.V :The, company had to thank' the' staff- ftt' thY works .for. the splendid spirit .thefjr' hatl: shown,; particularly _ last,.December, when, owing!'-to .a shortage of'.stocfe, they worked overtime all through the Christmas holidays. Tho f plant at ,the works had been kept up to standard and-the stocks of materials were; efficient for all requirements. i !. .;.';■ It was decided to pay/a dividend of' 2i per cent.; at an early d^tc'for: the past year. - ' : ' : : : '••;■■; A vote of £100 was made to th« directors for their services during the financial' year. : ■'-..- _'; ,; . As there wero no , other nominees, Messrs. W. A. Chote and J. Passmore, sen., were re-elected to the board of directors for the coming year. - ;
