MR. A. NAISMITH
' l'ho death ■occurred .yesterday■after-noo-n of Mr. Alexander Naismith, aged 73, of 367 Muritai Eoad, Eastbourne. fc Naisinith WJfS born iv Liverpool iv" 18C0 and came out to New ZealaM aa second steward in. the Union^Steam Ship Company's Mararoa, serving m several of the company's passenger yes, gels -before -taking up an appointment, ashoro about sixteen years- ago. , He acted as superintendent of stores departments at Sydney,.. Melbourne Dunadin, and Wellington, and. was it the head office of the.companyvia,Wellington, in that capacity for fexx years. Seven years ago Mr. Naismith retired and settled down, at. Eastbourne. , While in the employ of the Union Steam Ship Company he was sent Home on three occasions to superintend the internal fitting work on vessels under construction. . ■■':..■...•, . ; Mr. Naismith, who had been ill, tor a short time, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Naismith, a daughter. Miss' W. Naismith, of Wellington, and by three brothers, Messrs. W. and C. Naismith, of Wellington, and F. Naisinith, of. Patea, and a sister, Mrs. A. Young, of Wellington. Tho funeral1 will take place afc Karori Cemetery tomorrow morning.
