If. Davis, trainer o£ Red Manfred, has a notable record in the Wangauui Guineas. He rode St. Mark to victory in 1899, Renown in 1900, and King Billy in 1905. As a trainer he produced Bjorneborgin 1910, Estland in 1918,^ and Highland .in.1922. Highland ran in his own name, owing to the absence in' England :of the owner; Mr. I; H. I.owry.
