ESPERANTO CLUB
The •weekly meeting ai the Wellington, Esperanto (Jlub was held last night in the V.M.C.A. Mr. Bertram. Potts presided. The first portion of the evening was devoted to tuition, and tlie second to a Special programme. The president gave at snort talk in Esperanto on "La Literal two de Esperanto," making special'refer* ence to the modern school of Esperanto novelists. Mr. L. E. Dust, delegate of the Universal Esperanto Association, ad;* dressed the members in Esperanto on the question of electrification of railways iit New Zealand. Pour readings from "La Fundamenta Krestomatio" were given a* follows:—Mrs. T. Morganti, "La Malfeliea Komercisto"; Miss I. Smythson,- "La Neantauvidita Respondo"; Mr. C. H. Phillips, "La Filo"; and Mr. G-. Tait, "Severa. Bibliotekisto." A special musical item was provided by the secretary, Miss ; &. Carty, who rendered a piano solo, a'selection from Sibelius. Mr. E. G. Jack gav<r an interesting talk to beginners in simple Espei-anto, using the limited vocabulary of the more junior students. An enjoy-, able evening terminated with the.einginj .
