AUSTRALIAN PRODUCTION
Dry weather iii minor Australian dairying districts has been a minor factor in the recent advance in prices for New Zealand butter. Latest reports from such districts indicate a change. In the aggregate New South Wales butter production is improving, although in some centres the upward movement is slow. More rain is needed' in many dairying districts. Interstate ■ markets are reviewed by Prescott, Ltd., ■ as1 follows:— Melbourne.—Satisfactory weather lias been experienced and supplies are steadily' increasing. The quantity graded for export is - also heavier.
Brisbane.—Further liglit rainfalls have occurred in many»j areas, but to some extent the benefit has been counteracted by cold-drying westerly winds. A gradual increase is reported from roost quarters, and the improvement should be more rapid immediately warm weather Bets in. Adelaide. —Dairying centres are reported to be in splendid condition as a result o£ the recent, rains. Production is now moving up rapidly.
