The New Zealand Manufacturers.'. Federation forwarded a circular expressing the aims and views of the; organisation and asked for an-opinion on them. • ■'■■■-■• ■ i
After the circular had been read it was decided that a reply be sent that in the opinion of. the. Canterbury executive the circular was contemptible.
The circular stated that the federation would counter, the activities of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation (organised* secondary industries), which had been largely responsible for the ine'roase in tariffs in recent years and the consequent development of. uneconomic seeoadaTy industries.
