Wesley put up a good showing against IWellington and were beaten. by only 3 "oals' to 2. Several "of 'the regular:' Wellington players were not playing, and their absence affected the combination of the team. There was a good deal or patchy ■play, but also some-bright incidents, one was the scoring of the first goal of the match by Wellum, a Wellington senior B player. The second goal which put .Wesley on terms was also the result of «v attractive ■ piece of play, a splendid kentre from the left wing going to Kelly, who made no mistake with the shot. Before half-time Kushbridge gave Wellinglon another goal. Butler, a Wesley back, fed to leave the field with a.slight head injury-early in the second spell, but VVes--34? continued their stubborn play, and *oon-afterwards McKair made the score 2ull. > A-penalty .bully against a Wellington back resulted an, the defender* favour, tend FerjrasoH then scored the waning goal. Mr. S.-B. Browne was the referee.
