CRICKET UMPIRES
Good ;progress is reported by the Wellington Cricket Umpires' Association, the work o£ the past year including a revision of the rules and constitution and a new arrangement, as a result of a conference- with the Wellington Cricket Association, regarding the appointments of umpires. The umpires are preparing for the new season, and present members and intending mem"bcrs are notified that the annual meeting is to be held in the- Gas Company's premises, Courtenay Place, on "Wednesday, September 6, at 7.30 p.m. New members joined up last season, but the association, still aiming at being able to appoint umpires for all matches, is looking to' more "enthusiasts to undertake, umpiring in an official capacity next season.
