DANTE, THE DANISH MAGICIAN.
Dante, the world-famous Danish magician and Illusionist, who together with his big international company, will commence their Dominion season, at the Grand Opera House, Wellington, on Wednesday night, September 6, heads what Is known as the most-travelled' theatrical' organisation in tho world. He travels.with no less than thirty tons of scenery and effects, which aro utilised in what is claimed to be the most unique mystery spectacle ever brought to this country. The programme will contain no less than fifty distinct Items, nil of which arc entirely new to Xew Zealand theatregoers. Dante makes use of every facility provided by modern- science and technique and may be said to have created a show that for mystery, colour, movement, and comedy, has never been eclipsed. Dante is declared to possess the elegance of Hermann, tho 'skill of Kellar, the finesse of Tlwrston, the craftsmanship of Maskelyne, and the showmanship of Houdini, as well as a modem technique that Is all his own. When he was last in the Dominion—over twenty years ago as the Great' lansen—audiences accepted his work as that of a past master In the art of mystifying entertainment, and he is now recognised "as the greatest living exponent of magic. The box plans for the first six- nights of the season will open at The Bristol and Grand Opera House on Thursday. .
