The giant 50,000-ton rtalian liner Bex, which, was launched last year, lias made a record passage across the Atlantic, according to cable advice received by the Sydney agents of the Italia Shipping Company. The voyage from Gibraltar' to New York was made in four days 13 hours and 50 minutes. Throughout the trip the Rex maintained an average speed of 28.02 .knots, while she reached'a maximum speed of (29.01 knots. TAMAHINE FOR OVERHAUL. The Picton ferry stcamci Taraahine made ja return trip to Wellington last night, arriving here at 12.40 a.m. today instead of at 6.15 as jin the usual course of events.
