WIRELESS CONTROL IN QUEST OF GOLD

("Times" Cable.) LONDON, August 24. Aeroplanes controlled by wireless and flown by Air Force experts, is the latest method of aerial photography. A large force of motor-lorries equipped with wireless will form part of the biggest and best equipped aerial survey expedition ever organised by Britain, which is shortly going to Australia in order to execute the most extensive survey of the remote Western Australian gold areas yet attempted. The expedition, the organisation of which is under the advice of ViceAdmiral H. P. Douglas, will survey a widespread area of 1200 miles of largely desert country to assist western mining corporations and' geologists to locate new gold formations. The operations, which will,, probably involve the photographing, of an area of 88,000 square miles, will be directed by wireless from! the base. 1 The Australian Government has been: invited to make full use of the organisation and the experience gained.
