MINUTES TO BE READ

Vor the benefit of the public, the minutes of the committee proceedings of the Eastbourne Borough Council are to be read out at the monthly meetings of the council. Until now the -various reports have been referred to by the number cf each clause, and at the previous meetiug of the council a motion that each committee report be read out was defeated. At last evening's meeting Councillor A. 11. Macandrew said his view on the matter had changed, and he favoured the reading of the committee reports in public. Councillor1 C. A. Rendlc said it was only a matter of courtesy to the public who attended the council meetings to read out the committee reports. It was unanimously 'decided to rend out the minutes of tlio committees' reports, except for porsoiisil lot- confidential matter.
