ULSTER ASSOCIATION

The annual meeting of members of the Ulster Association of New Zealand was held recently at the headquarters of the association. Rechabite Chambers, Willis Street. The annual report and balancesheet were submitted by the secretarytreasurer, Mr. E. Gilmour, and passed. The election of. officers resulted as follows:—Patron, the, Rt. Hon. Viscount Craigavon; 'president. Rev. J. Baird, 8.A.; vice-presidents, Dr. J. S. Elliott, Messrs. I. M. Milligan, J. Houston, K. H. Smith, ,T. Pearson; secretary-treasurer, Mr-. H. M. May, J.P.; assistant secretary, Mr. W. J. Lynd; executive committee, Messrs. J. McClatehey, D. Greenlees, J % Sleator, Mesdames M. Lea; K. Pearson/G. Hamilton, K. May, Quirke, S. Murray. Mr. K. 11. Smith was elected chairman for the current term.

The annual subscription was reduced to 2s Od per member to meet tho present financial depression.

A sub-committee was set up to arrange for an "Ulster" concert, to be held ut an early date, it being pointed out that Ulster had her traditional songs and folklore, as had the rest of Ireland, and it was considered desirable to give expression to them by a public concert.
