AUCKLAND WATER SCHEME
COUNCIL WILL NOT NEGOTIATE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 24. The activities'of the'Waikato Water Supply Company, Ltd., which proposes to draw water from the Waikato Elver to supply locai bodies, were discussed by the City Council when a tentative proposal was made by the company under which the city was offered water at a price which it was stated would show a saving on its present supplies. :: The discussion was taken in committee, and it was later announced that the council was not prepared to enter into negotiations with the company and would oppose its proposals.
