MARKETS QUIET

United Press Association—By Electric Telesraph—Copyright. (Received August 25, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 24. The butter market is-quiet. Danish, 104s per cwt; choicest salted New Zealand, 90s to 925; Australian, 90s to 91s; and unsalte/d about 2s per cwt premium. The cheese market is slow. New Zealand, white 47s per cwt, and coloured 51s. Australian cheese is temporarily cleared.

Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd.. have' received from Trcngrouse and Nathan, Ltd., London, the following cabled advice, dated August 24:—"New Zealand cheese: White 47s per cwt, coloured 50s. Very quiet."

Dalgety and Co. are advised by Samuel Page and Sou, London, August 24, as follows:—Butter market slow. Danish, 102s to 106s; N.Z. finest salted, 90s to 91s; Australian, finest unsalted 91s to 925, salted 90s to 91s; Australian G.A.Q., S6s to 88s. Cheese market slow. N.Z., white 47s to 48s, coloured 50s to 51s; spot price for Canadian, white 50s to 51s, coloured 52s to 535.

A. J. Mills and Co. have received cabled advice from London giving tha _ following market prices ruling at close of business on Thursday:—"Butter: The market is quiet. New Zealand, finest EOs to 91s, firsts 89s to 90s, unsalted D2s to 945; Danish, 104s to 105s; Australir.n, 89s to 91s; Irish, 88s to 90s; Siberian, 743 to 755; Baltic States, 84s to 80s. Cheese: Market is easier. New Zealand, white 47s (3d to 48s, coloured 51a to 51s Gd; Canadian, white and coloured, July make, c.i.f. quotation, 49s to 505."

A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd., advise having received today cable advice from J. and J. Lonsdale and Co. (London), Ltd., as follows:—"Butter market dull.New Zealand, Australian, 90s to 91s. Cheese market quiet. White 47s to 47s Gd, coloured 150s to 50s 6d."
