CASE OF BIGAMY

(Special to the "Evening Post.") MASTER-TON, This Day. Pleading guilty to a charge of bigamy, Arthur Ernest Reeves, a Masterton resident, who appeared before the Magistrate's Court at Feilding yesterday, was committed to tho Supreme Court at Palmerston North in October for sentence. The accused, who was a widower, married a Masterton woman last October, and in May of this year went through the form of marriage with a Feilding woman. The accused was admitted to bail, in his own bond of £100 and ono surety of £100. Mr. R. R. Burridge, of Masterton, appeared for the accused.

The City Council has instructed the City Solicitor to draft a bill for submission to Parliament with a view to the council securing enlarged powers of inspection for the purpose of endeavouring to prevent the sale of. illicit milk in the city.
