GALLOPS AT AWAPUNI
HUNTING BOY GOES WELL

Light, steady rain was falling at Awapuni this morning for the final gallops for the Manawatu Hunt Club's Meeting, arid the track will be very heavy tomorrow. With the big fences in position on the outside of the course proper, all fast work, this morning was carried out on the hurdle track. Times were slow. . High Society and Pango finished together at the end of six furlongs in lmin 28 3-ssec. Orby's Choice had a shade advantage over Currajong at the close of seven furlongs: in- lmin 42 2-ssec, the first two inT29sec. , Nebulae , and After Money broke 42sec in Tunning three furlongs. Ebeum was holding a slight advantage over Mercian Prince after running six furlongs in lmin :25sec. Omeo, going alone, took lmin 31 2-ssec to run an easy six furlongs. ' ' . . ■ ' '~■■.. En Vidette drew clear of Treasure Hunt in the concluding stages of half a mile in y56 3-ssec. Thrasher, who followed, registered the same time.; Hunting Lodge; slipped over three furlongs in 41 3-ssec. Ythan ran right away from Gaspipe, although he ; required lmin 55sec for seven furlongs, tho first half-mile in 64sec. ..' . Boyston finished' better than Park Acre to register lmin 44sec for seven furlongs, the.first "two being, left behind in 28 l-ssec. Morrath did an easy seven furlongs in lmin 50see. Callamart and Hunting Boy were associated in a schooling bout over nine fences. The pair,were together throughout, Hunting Boy giving a very promising display. ■.■■'■ ~ ' .
