THREE WOMEN INJURED
LORRY AND CAR COLLIDE

HASTINGS, This Day.
Three women were injured when a motor-lorry containing twenty passengers from Napier, on their way to a religious meeting p.t Hastings, was struck by a motor-car on the NapierHastings road in the vicinity' of the Whakatu turn-off a few minutes before 7 o'clock last night.
Tho injured wero admitted to the Napier Hospital. Their condition is reported as satisfactory. They are:— Mrs. Ada James, aged 57, Burlington Koad, Napier, dc<»j scalp wounds; Mrs. Isabella McTaggart, aged 57, Milton Road, Napier, severe cut on the left side of' the forehead; Mrs. Nellie McEwen, aged 54, Ossiau Street, Port Ahuriri, fracture of the upper arm. Th 0 motor-lorry, which waa ; driven by Mr. B. Scott, was travelling towards Hastings when the accident occurred. The car, which was travelling in the diretcion of Napier, was driven by Mr. Charles McLeod, of Wanganui. The front of the car struck the driving side of the lorry with such force that tho lorry turned over on its aide.
