Tor. his . fourth .statutory- offence of drunkenness, James Cavanugh, aged 34, was lined £2, in default seven days' imprisonmeut. Jane Elizabeth Wells, a second offender for drunkenness, .was. lined 109, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment. On a further charge of wilfully breaking a pane of glass, she was fined 5s and ordered to make good the damage. William John Gillman was fined £2, and ordered to pay costs and expenses amounting to £1 13s, on a charge of deserting from the .v.s.. Cumberland.

On a charge of distributing handbills in Riddiford Street without a permit, Joseph Gwynne Barnes was fined 10s, and ordered to pay 10s costs.
