In the . first round of the Badmintoa inter-club matches (senior grade) Kelburn defeated Wellington B by 9 games (196 points) to 7 games (174 points). Interclub matches are being played for the. first time under the control of the Wellington Badminton Association. Results in the Kelburn-Wellington match, played at the Wellington Badminton Club's courts, Sydney Street cast, were (Kelburn players mentioned first); — Men's Singles: E. A. Roussell beat D. G. France, 15-13; N. li. C. Wilson beat A. H. Blown, 15-7; N. A. Foden lost to R. Sneddon, 14-15; A. E. Sandrall beat E. C. Gorton, 15-13. Men's Doubles: Wilson and Sandrall' beat France and Brown, 15-11 j Roussell and Foden beat Sneddon and Gorton, 15-14. Ladies' ■ Singles: Mrs. Sandrall ■ lost to Mrs. France/8-11: Miss Chartres lost to Miss Carey, 8-11; Miss Glover lost to Miss Mad Gown, 2-11; Miss East beat Mrs. Melody, 11-1. Ladies' Doubles: Mrs. Sandrall and Miss East beat Mrs. France aud Miss Carey, 10-S; Misses Glover and Chartres lost to Miss Mac Gown and Mrs. Melody, 1045. Mixed Doubles: AVilson and Mrs. Sandrall beat Mr. and Mrs. Fvance,.lo-4: Roussell and Miss East beat Brown and Miss Carey, 15-10; Foden and Miss Glover lost to'Sneddon and Miss Mac Gown, 12-15; Sandrall and Miss Chartres lost to Gorton and Mrs. Melody, 13-15.
