PETONE AND HUTT SECONDS

Petone proved jnuch too good for Hutt in the second division match at Petone, the local team winning by 29 points to 10 after a. fairly- fast and open encounter. The •winning team's backs were given a' good supply, of .the ball, by their forwards and made good use of the opportunities presented. The passing among the Petone backs . was much better than that displayed by the. first division team on the neighbouring ground, and the tackling was veryysolid. Hutt kept Petone down to a six-point lead in. the first spell, but in the second spell Petone took command and, throwing the ball about freely, added IS points to 5 by their opponents. For Petone Cleland (2), Shevon (2), May, Hudson, and Fuller scored tries, Caldwell converting four. Killeon and J. Foster scored tries for Hutt, Harman converting one and L. Foster the other.
