THE MYSTIC EAST
PLUNKET BALL SCHEME
Wellington citizens have learned to look forward to tho annual ball in aid of the Plunket Society as something unusual and original in the way of entertainment. Tho "best talent tho city can produce is used in tho organisation of this function, which is always regarded as being one of the most important social events of the season. The scheme for this year's ball, "An Arabian Night,"■ gives limitless scope for the artistry and originality of the designer, Mr. Victor Lloyd. The Town Hall will be given tho colourful and luxurious splendour of an Eastern palace, and the beautifuly frocked ballets, which are being arranged, will cany out the general scheme. The ball will be held during Kaca Week, and visitors to the city will be given the opportunity of taking part in tho festivity. The supper, as usual, is being provided free of charge, and other generous support is being offered on all sides. Those who realise what the work of the Plunket Society means to the Dominion, as well as those who have reaped the benefits of its work among the mothers 'and babies, are only too anxious to show their appreciation and gratitude.
