FEILDING STOCK SALE
(By Telegraph.—Pres9 Association.) FEILDING, June 23. There was a further marked advance in prices at the stock sale today, both for fat and store sheep. A record yarding of fats included 5400 fat lambs, which sold very readily at higher rates than last week by up to 5s a head. Exporters operated apapreutly without limits, and secured practically the whole yarding. Pens of lambs, extra prime, fetched 20s 9d (20s last week); prime special, 2Gs; prime, 22s Od to 255; all good lines at over 20s; medium, 17s to 19s 6d; light and backward sorts, 10s 3d to 16s 4d. Prime heavy wethers, 10s 6d; good, 15s to 16s; medium heavy, from 13s 8d to 14s* lOd. Extra prime ewes, 17s; prime maiden ewes, 15s; prime ewes, 12s 3d to 13s 6d; good, 9s Id to lls'Gd; fair quality, 8s to 8s lid; light and backward, from 6s; prime b:f. two-tooths, 17s; good, 10s to 15s. The second feature of the sale was the keen demand for store sheep.. Breeding ewes found the market at boom prices, farmers operating frqely throughout. One line of two-tooth ewes running with S.D. rams, sold at 23s 3d, a quite extraordinary figure. Two, four, and six-tooth ewes, S.D. rams, made 15s ' lid; ' four and sixtooth four-year ditto, to 15s sd; four and five-year ditto, lis 9d, 14s Od, to 16s" 9d; five-year ditto, 15s 9d to 15s; m.a. ditto, lis lOsd; s.m. ditto, lis. Store lambs were also eagerly snapped up at quite advanced prices. Wi. wether lambs made 8s 6d to. 10s Sd; ewe lambs, to 13s; forward wethers, to 13s. ' A larger yarding of'dairy stock found the market at about last week's rates. Springing cows made to £5 10s; JulyAugust calvers to £5 2s 6d; heifers, r.w.b., to £5 os. A small yarding of fat cattle sold at somewhat easy r_tes. Prime heavy heifers made to £4; light, from 355; heavy cows,: to £4 4s; steers, £3 lis; yealers, 28s 6d; runners, £2 4s. There was a good demand for store cattle. P.A. steers made £3 2s Gd to £4 14s; bullocks, £3 15s to £4 17s; P.A. Hereford cross weaver steers, 39s Od; P.A.
wonner steers, 37s Od; Hereford steers,; SOs; Jersey weaver heifers, to £2; Here-j ford cows, r.w.b., £2 Is., , J Percy P. Stevens, Feilding, reports sales of poultry and pigs as follows:—Poultry: I Hens, 2s 5d to 2s lid each; cockerels, 3s to 5s 9d; pullets, small 3s; turkey gobblers, 4s 9d to 6s; turkey hens, 4s to 4s 9d; - clucks, 2s 6d to 2s 7d; drakes, 3s. Pigs:' Weaners, 9s to 14s; slips, 14s 6d to 16s Gd; small stores, 12s Gd to 16s 6d; porkers, £1 2s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—At our ; Feilding sale on Friday we had a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle. The , tone of the market was excellent; fat ; sheep in particular were in advance of last week by easily Is Od to 2s 6d per head. Store sheep were in keen demand, . and a total clearance was effected under , the hammer at prices well in favour of vendors. Cattle showed an advance right i through in all classes, more especially in i station cattle. Dairy cattle were weak.
