AUSTRALIAN WOOL SALES
Returns issued by the National Council of Wool Selling Brokers of Australia show that sales of wool in the principal selling centres of the Commonwealth from July 1 to March 31 totalled 2,503,384 bales, which realised £28,371,140, . the. transactions showing an increase of 277,572 bales, and the amount realised an increase of. 3,043,549 compared with the similar period of the preceding season. The average secured for the wool, greasy and scoured, was £11 6s 8d per bale, or B.Bd per lb, the figures for , the nine months a year previously being £11 7s 7d per bale, or 8.9 d per lb. The .influence of increased production and sales on the realisations is shown by the following totals, giving the turnover for the period during four seasons'— Average Bales. Realised, per lb. d.
