EX-IMPERIAL MEN
RELIEF MONEY SPENT
It was seated at the mooting of the War Relief Association of Wellington today that a number of years ago the association received from England ~JDOO to be spent on ex-lmporial men. That sum had been expended, together with an extra £8000 from the- association s funds, on ex-Imperial men, and the association could not afford to give relief now to those men, as the association's funds were inadequate for the relief of New Zealand returned soldiers. The Imperial authorities, in spite of requests, had failed to send out any more■ money- for tho relief of their men in 2?cw Zealand. The exImperial men felt aggrieved wheu they were- sent away without much help, as they believed that the inouey was in the association* possession for them, but if had all Lccn spont, together with {he sum mentioned above from the association's own fnnds. ' The report of the Applications and Emergency Committees stated that there had been no alteration jn their general activities.
