INTEREST IN SYDNEY
BEST NEWS SINCE 1919
NO. HARD CONDITIONS
(Eeceived March 30, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY,. This Day. The MacEobertson's £, 10,000 "Air Prize has aroused considerable interest in aviation circles in Australia. It is described as the best news civil aviation has received since the Commonwealth Government's prize for the pioneering flight from England to Australia, won by Sir Ross and Sir Ksith Smith in 1919.
It is understood that the race will not be hedged by any difficult conditions. All makes and sizes' of machines may compete, but must follow a prescribed, route. The first machine to reach Melbourne receives a rich prize. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith stated last night that he was unlikely to take part, but he hoped that aviators inclined to do so would look carefully into the risks.
