BECOMING MILDER
Rather variable winds, with northerlies to .north-westerlies predominant, are forecasted to prevail generally. These will be light to moderate in most districts .at first, but will bo strong about Foveaux Strait, and elsewhere will gradually increase in strength. Fine weather can be expected in most districts, but scattered showers are probable tomorrow in Westland and about' Foveaux Strait. Temperatures will become milder. v: .: '
An anti-cyclone continues to cover tho Dominion, hence tbo weather as 'a whole has.remained fine and pleasant, although a few ligfyt and irregular showers havo fallen in far northern and southern districts. Winds have been light and variable, but by this morning there was a distinct tendency for northerlies south of Now. Plymouth and Napier.
' Auckland had another fino day yesterday, with an easterly breeze.
Tho weather in Wellington and Christehurch was very similar, each enjoying fine- and pleasant conditions, although somewhat cloudy at times, and in each city a light northerly wind prevailed. Dunedin had fine, mild, and practically calm, jycathcr yesterday,
