The girl was washing f:!cthcs in about an inch 6f water which "was runuuu; into 'the bath from a tap connected with the boiling spring, when f>hf* fell backwards suddenly into tho water. She fell so hca.vily that she lapsed into unconsciousness and was badly oftalded before shij could be lifted from fno viatcr.

Tho girl was iidmitted to hospital, and hci- condition is reported to be critical.
