WEDDING
BUEZfS—BANNING,
The wedding was solemnised recently at St. -Francis do Sales Cliureh, Island Bay, of Freda Kathleen, second daughter of Mrs. C. Fanning, Island Bay, to Robert Alexander, youngest sou of Mr and Mrs. A; D. Burns, Wellington. The ceremony was performed by Bey Father Maloney. The brido, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr, Frank Fanning, wore a beautiful gown of ivory satin beauto cut oa classic lines, the luce sleeves forming a puff and capo effect at the shoulders,: the frock being, finished with wide satin bow at the back. She- wore a cap of orange blossom buds woll back on her head, and her embroidered tulle veil formed a train. She carried a shoal1 of gladioli tinted from deep cream to a pale lemon. The" three bridesmaids Misses Elsie Fanning (chief), Eileen Gibbs, and Marie Fanning, wore charming frocks of satin boaute made on princess lines, the skirts falling in full flares to the ground with hats of largo summer felts to tone. They each carried a sheaf of autumn-tinted flowers. Mr. J Hannah was best man, and Messrs']?' Coghlan and W. Langdoii groomsmen. A reception was held at the residence of the bride's mother, who wore a smart ensemble of chocolate brown and
hat to tone. Her bouquet was of autumn flowers. -Mrs. Burns was in a navy ensemble, and carried a- bouquet in tones of red. - Miss - Doris Fanning (sister of the bride) wore a smart frock of mustard-coloured niarocain. Among those present wero Rev. Father Maloney, Mr.. A. D. Burns, Mrs. G. Treadgold, Mr. and Mrs. I\.' Grogan, Mrs. P. J. O'Began, Dr. and Mrs. B. O'Regan, Mr. and Mrs. L.Janscn, Mr. and Mrs. H, Shcphcrdson, Mrs. McEae, Mrs. Gallagher, Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Ramin, Misses N. Burns, J. Fanning, M. Fan-, ning, J. Gallagher, E. Kelly, R. Lanigan (Auckland), I. O'Regan, V. Ross, K. Gott, I. Higgins, and Messrs. D. Burns (New Plymouth), C. O'Eegan, A. Burke, and many others. ' .
