POSITION OF CROSSBREDS'
(Received March 30, 11 a.m.) LONDON, March 29. Final catalogues 'offered at'the London iiarch series oi wool sales today amounted to 6530 bales, including 2745 bales New Zealand. About 2010 bales have been sold,.'and the series closed firm, with .offerings xnostly. cleared. New Zealand greasy halfbred, "Mount Paul," realised lOd highest, 9V4d average; halfbred Jambs, slipe, "Tomoa-na," 10$ d • highest, 10% d average. Of the 101,871 bales catalogued the Home market took 30,000, the Continent £9.500. ■ . The total Australian woo] sold was 33,000 bales, and New Zealand 30.000. Prices realised, when compared with the February closing rates, showed that greasy merinos and the finer grades were practically unchanged; broad-haired MeriWos- were 2% to 5 per cent, cheaper. Scoured wools of the liner sorts, were also slightly easier, -medium being sold at par fo 5 per cent, cheaper. With regard to crossbreds, fine sorts were 10 per cent, and medium and coarse were 7'/& per cent, easier. '. Slipes were generally 10 per cent, .down, the finer sorts, however; being IVs per cent, lower. ( . SUPPLEMENTARY ADVICES. Competition was animated between an average attendance of buyers of whom, the Continental ajid Bradford' representatives were, the chief operators. American buyers were Hot operating. Ofterings for the series ;w;erc 98,000 bales of average solecUou o£ wools. Of these 88,500 bales were sold. We quote the following average realisations:—GreaEy coarse crossbred. 36/40's, yielding 77, per cent., 4d; crossbred lambs, . 46/50's, yielding 7.j per cent., VM; Australian merino prices, par to 5" per cent.
