(Special from "Early Bird.")

AUCKLAND, March 28.

For the first time in its history, the Thames Trotting Club is to hold a twoday meeting, opening on Thursday and concluding on Saturday. In all except one event the fields are very good indeed, and they should hold up for both days. It is probable that the club will do better on the opening day, for the second cricke^ Test will be in progress on Saturday, and that will keep most Auckland city and suburban sportsmen at home:

Hikutaia Handicap.—Lislea, Gold Seam, and Cimarron.

Puriri' Handicap.—Mazda, Wee Machine, and Pukemiro.

. Thames Cup.—Carnui-Pageant bracket, Brentlight, and Kewpie's Triumph. Turua .Handicap.—Te Mahanga, May Ghenault,-and Raider. ■ '■'.

Kerepeehi Handicap.—-Pegaway, Free 'Logan, and Realty. ■
