ROWING

EIGHT-OAR FIXTURE

Crews representing the Wellington, Canterbury, Wanganui, Auckland, Otago, and Marlborough Provinces will compote in the interprovincial cightoar championship, which is, to be rowed here on Saturday afternoon.

At a special meeting of tho council of the New Zealand Rowing Association last night the proposal of the Wellington Bowing Association that a North v. South Island race should be held after the championship event was approved. Tho contest between the North and South Island crews will be rowed over a lj-mile course.

It was also decided that tho managers of tho''Visiting crews should appoint solo selectors, one for the North Island and one for. the South. It was a recommendation "by the council that proportional representation should be given to each province as far as possible.

The visiting oarsmen will begin to arrive at Wellington tomorrow. A. civic reception in their honour has been arranged to take place at noon on Sat-

urdny. The following is the personnel of the crews:—
