Stock,' that he awart the deliberations of the committee get up to go mto the merits of this scheme after seeing the parties most concerned? The secretary of the Symphony Orchestra is one of this committee and can be trusted to look after the Symphony Orchestra's interests.

Your correspondent has apparently not understood the scheme—an excellent summary ;of which was- published in' "The Evening Post"—or he would not ask irrelevant questions. The suggestion made there is that .the orchestra be under the control of a board of nine men—not the City Council. .-- ■■'•.. .■.-■■"

With regard to your correspondent's questions as to whether I have any direct knowledge of the working of the London Symphony Orchestra,.
