NELSON, March 27.

This morning, Henry Creedin Cheeseman, aged CO years, a retired Marlboroiigh farmer, ■ residing in Halifax Street, was found dead in his bedroom with a rifle between his legs and a gunshot wound in -the head.

It,.,is understood that the deceased had- been' in ill-health for some time.
