The Hutf Valley Lady's Club -held their annual social evening towards the end of last year, when the trophies won during the season were presented. Mr. Witcombe, president of the Wellington Association,' congratulated Mrs. Nightingale on achieving the distinction of winning the club, championship for the fifth year in succession. Her average was 67.7. Mrs. Nicholas, runner-up, average 66.9, was also congratulated, and special reference was made to Miss Milford. a very young shot, who won the B grade championship. Mr. W. Nash, T),,rf; " patron' Presented the trophies. During an interval Misses McKercher and jiiason contributed dances and Mr. McKenzlo a popular member of the Harbour Board Club entertained with several songs. The music for the dance programme was supplied by Mr ctapperton.

Miss Pointon; highest aggregate over all competitions, Mrs. Nightingale, won Mr. Cummings trophy; Mrs. Young's trophy went to Mrs. Nicholas, runner-up; most number of "bulls eyes" over season, Mr. Greenfield's trophy, Mrs. Nightingale. Miss Hosken; Mrs. Nicholas' trophy, Mrs. McDonell; highest aggregate over all competitions, Mr. Williams' trophy, Miss Milford; runner-up, Mr. Liebe2eit's trophy, Sllss Wale; most "bulls eyes" over season. Mr. Greenfield's trophy, Mrs. Bainden. A special shoot for B grade shots only, trophy donated by Mr. Thirkell, was won by Miss Milford. Mr. Nightingale's trophy, for the year's learners, was won by Miss Hosken, and Mrs. Campbell's trophy for runner-up went to Mrs. McDowell. Possibles -were gained during the season by Mrs. Greenfield, Mrs. Nightiugale.i and Mrs. Ffrost. Mrs. Nicholas, club captain, took an opportunity on behalf of the • members to present Mr. Nightingale, the coach, with a very handsome token in recognition of his good will. KARORI CLUB. The. Karori Club's annual meeting took place "on March 22. There was a good attendance. The report dealt fully with the club's activities and made special mention of the team's good showing in the competitions of the N.Z.M.R.C. The departure of Mr. and Mrs! Hands was mentioned with regret, and the following were thanked for their generous donations of trophies last season:—Messrs. L. H. Labone, D. Robertson, J. Staples, and E. J. Witcombe. The balance-sheet showed the club to be in a sound financial position. The club will shoot on Thursday evenings this season, opening on Thursday this week at the association range. Frankland; delegate to W.M.R.A., Mr. W. J. H. Haase; lion, auditor, Mr. F. Field. PETONE CENTRAL CLUB. The Petone Central Club held its annual general meeting on Monday, March 20. It was one of the finest and the best atteuded yet held. The report and balance-sheet showed that the club is holding its own and making good progress. A vote of confidence was passed to Mr. Oakley recording the loss of Mrs. Oakley, a very much, respected vice-presi-dent, and one who had been very kind and helpful to the club in many ways. Mr. Oakley, in returning thanks, said that he had much pleasure in presenting a silver cup (with miniature) for annual competition, the cup to be known as the Oakley Memorial Cup. Trophy winners for the year were as follows: —McGhie Cup and championship, S. Jones; Stewart Dawson Cup, A. E. Ffrost; Tisdall Cup. J. Devine; handicap aggregate, A grade X. Searle, B grade T. Wilkinson. The series trophy winners were:—First series, A grade, S. Jones; B grade, D. Oliver. Second series: A grade, A. Jones; B grade, J. Jeffries. Third series: A grade, H. Woodhead; B grade, D. Jones. Fourth series: A grade, A. Hobbs; B srade, T. Pearce. Fifth series: A grade, S. Jones; B grade, T. Wilkinson. Sixth series: A grade, S. Jones; B grade, D. Oliver. N. E.' Soloman was runner-up for the McGhio Cup and won the trophy presented by Mrs. Jones.

Stevenson, and T. Wilkinson were elected members of the committee. PETONE LADIES' CLUB. . The annual general meeting of the Petone Ladies' Clitfj was held recently, and was well attended. Miss Wild; treasurer and target-marker, Mrs. Scott; . captain, Mrs. Johnstone; vice-captain. Miss Pratley; deleeate to W.M.R.A., Miss Wild; committee, officers and Mrs. Turner; coach, Mr. Marsden; auditor, Mr. E. S. Jones.
The balance-sheet and report showed- the club to be In a good position. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers, and especially to- Mrs. Jones, who had held the position of president for several years. Mrs. Jones. thanked the members, congratulated the secretary (Miss Wild), and also extended the congratulations of. Mr. Jones, the club's auditor, on the efficient manner in which Miss Wild's duties as secretary and treasurer had been carried out. The official opening of the season takes place, tonight. PORT NICHOLSON LADIES' CLUB. The tenth annual general meeting of the Port Nicholson Ladies' Club was held on the Harbour Board range on March 9. Sincere sympathy was expressed for Mr. 11. E. Xicholls, patron, in hi3 recent sad loss. Miss M. Foy, who has been a member of the club almost since its inception, and club. captain for the Uealth of late,' and tendered her resignation, which was received with profound regret. As a tribute to Miss Toy's faithful service it was decided that the honour of being the club's first life-member be -conferred, upon her. This motion was carried •unanunou'sly. Practice shooting was commenced on March IG. Miss King started the season with a possible. Congratulations, Miss King, and we hope to see this score registered quite often. Miss Halliday had the next hishest score, a good 69. The highest scores on March 23 were made by Miss Hallidaly and Miss Shaw, 68 each. I
- Next Thursday the official opening of tho season will take place. All members and intending members are invited to attend. The early part of the evening will be devoted to a friendly match with the Wellington Harbour Board Club, the guests of.the evening, and a ver7 enjoyable time is anticipated. AOTEA CLUB. The Aotea Club held a practice shnot on Wednesday evening at the Association Ilange. A considerable number of new members made their first appearance on the mound. Mr. Percy Stewart, the club captain, scored a possible. The club opens the season tomorrow evening. GENERAL. It is reported from the Public Service Club that R. S. Walshaw, a new member, scored 91, 94, and 90 respectively in three shoots, j The Harbour Board Club is holding its opening night on Monday, April 3. An urgent meeting of delegates of the Wellington Association will be held in tho Association Range tomorrow evening. In view of the importance of the meeting a full attendance is urged. An election of secretary, chairman, and management committee, will take place. .
