THE GOOGLE
(To the Editor.) Sir,—Mr. W. H. Atack in his letter in today's "Post" recalls that the late J.. M. Blackham on a certain occasion made use of the term "googler," and wonders if it was a more or, less known description of a particular type of bowling. I well recollect reading some time in the nineties one of the" delightful articles of the late Thomas Horan, "Felix," of the "Australasian," headed "Round the Ground," in which in recounting his experiences on the occasion of one of the annual matehes played in Melboarne between New South Wales and Victoria, he related that he met W. H. Cooper, "the old MC C googler bowler." .Perhaps "googlie" was originally written in mistake for the disused descriptive terra which Mr. Atack has so intorestingly dug up.—l aui, etc., , r .• .
