The manner in which Manawhenua is getting through his work at Ellcrslie, notes a northern writer, points to his being jn great heart by the time the Auckland Autumn Meeting is at hand, and he should be a good prospect for a ra. ce in Ins next few starts, more especially if fie happen? to strike soft going, to which he is extremely partial. He has come on remarkably well following the spell he had on his return from Australia in December, and present indications are that he will be better than ever this year. It is more than likely that he will again visit Australia after the autumn meetings.
