The president of the W.C.T.U. has received word that the Nelson Union, in competition with the rest of New Zealand, has won the three banners this year—the Cradle Eoll, L.T.L., and Adults' Union.

The rowing crews to represent Nelson against Kawatiri at Westport at Easter arc:—Gothard Cup: C. L. Marshall, G.. P. Eussell, M. B. Winter,.G. Holbrook. Harley Cup: G. Eennison, E. Drogemuller, S. Pushman, D. G. Eussell. Youths: G. F. Mytton, W. McKenzie, K. Hobbs, L. F. Gubb.

At the monthly meeting of the Nelson Education Board held at "Westport on Thursday; evening, resignations were accepted as follows: —Mrs. H. T. Allison, sole teacher, Wangapeka Track; Mr. A. E. Bird, head teacher, Upper Moutere; Miss i{. J. Crowe, assistant teacher, Eichmond; Miss E. Dunn, sole teacher, Black's Point; Miss M. E. Green, assistant teacher, Motupipi; Miss M. I"1. Homer, sole teacher, Hira; Miss G. Lewin, relieving probationary assistant, Nelson Central; Miss A. O'Brien, sole teacher, Upper Blackwater; Miss K. W. Shirtliff, assistant teacher, Nelson. Central; Miss W. E. Wharton, assistant teacher, Nelson Central; Miss B. Smith, assistant teacher, Nelson Central; Mr. C. B. Beatson, sole teacher, Sherry Eiver. Provisional appointments confirmed were as follows: —Millerton, head teacher, Mr. J. S. Bean; Hira, sole teacher, Miss M. M. Takle. The Senior Inspector (Mr. G. Overton) recommended that Miss E. Hill take over the infant classes at the Eichmond School. The report was adopted. The" following appointments were made on the recommendation of the inspector:—Millerton, assistant teacher -(grade 2), Miss G. Strachan (Millerton); Westport, head teacher Mr. T. Eggelton (Kaiapoi); Black's Point, sole teacher, Mr. B. Don (Spring Grove); Tarakohe, sole teacher, Miss M. Desiren (Tarakohe); Eeefton, assistant teacher (grade 2), Miss M. A. Bell (Hampden Street); Eichmond, assistant teacher (grade 1), Miss Z. D. Sieley (Hope).
