WEDDING

BLUNDELL—GILL,

A wedding of considerable interest took place at St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, on Saturday afternoon, when Betty Moira, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. W. Gill, of Masterton, was married to Frank Beatson, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Blundell, of New Plymouth. The ceremony was performed by the Bey. E. J. Eich, Vicar of St. Matthew's. The church was beautifully decorated, and the ceremony took place under a floral arch from which was suspended a wedding bell.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming frock of oyster tinted angel skin satin, cut on long graceful lines, with cowl neckline and sleeves puffed at tho elbows and !' finished with a high cuff of Brussels lace, which . was also draped on the long ruehed tulle train. The lace was . made and worn by the- bride's mother at her wedding. A plain tulle veil and circlet of orange blossom was worn, .and a sheaf of tinted gladioli, roses, and begonias was carried.

The bridesmaids, Misses Nancy Morrison, E. Blundell (sister of the bridegroom), and H. Gill (sister of the bride), were dressed alike in anklelength lemon georgette frocks with capes finished with frayed taffeta ruchings of the same shade, which formed part of tho skirt with godet effect. Tiny caps of swathed velvet and autumn tinted flowers and leaves were worn to tone with the sheaves they carried of the same coloured gladioli and crab-apples. Mr. Barry Blundell (Wellington) was best man, and Messrs. N. and G. Blundell ushers.

The bride's mother wore a handsome blue wool-lace frock and a wide blue felt hat finished with velvet of the same shade. She carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers shading to wine. The bridegroom's mother worea frock of green crinkly crepo with touches of wool-laco on the sleeves and a green straw hat to tone. The bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs. Beatson (New Plymouth), wore black diagonal georgette with lace vestee of flesh georgette and a black straw hat. Miss Patricia Gill (sister of the bride) wore fawn and mulberry silk and a wide fawn felt hat.

A reception was held at tho Midland Hotel, the dining-room being artistically decorated with masses of dahlias and autumn foliage. A handsome wedding bell was suspended over tho bridal pair. Blundell (Martinborough), Misses E. and M. Briggs, J. Bawson, B. and J. Thomas, D. Bigg T Oswin, P. Blundell, J. Wheeler, T. Gill, and Messrs. C. A. Briggs, N. and C. Blundell, I. and B. Eoid. ■

Mr. and Mrs. Blundell left later by car for the north, tlio bride travelling in a brown flared georgette frock with a brown-flecked woollen crepe do chine eont and brown hat to tone. Their future home will be at Tatarahnaka, Taranaki.
