PUBLIC BEQUESTS

NEW PLYMOUTH, March 21
Bequests in the will of the late Pai - tick J. Flanagan, who died on Wednef 3day, include £1000 for the Eomj m Catholic Church, at New Plymouth, 'to be expended at New Plymouth.
A sum of £50 a year for 21 years b as been left to each of the following b* .idies:—The New Plymouth Life Savfr ng Club, for the purpose of fostering instruction in life-saving; the PukeJr .ura Park Board, and the. New Plyro oiith. Plunket Society. • ' . .
Other bequests are £.30 a year fjor 21 years to the Taranaki Eugby B1) rjon for an annual North Taranaki prian.-i.ry school competition, each member erf the winning team to be provided out erf the money with a footballer's outfit, and £5 a year for 21 years for an ami nual replica of the Flanagan Cup for aa / jpen sea swim.
The balance of the annual im'eome, after provision has been made fa r private and other annuities, is to be paid to the Taranaki Hospital Board to be expended for the benefit of tht i convalescent ward,'at- the New Ply JU outh Hospital. The result of this pw )vision is that ultimately the hospita] board will receive the income from ,th o whole of the residue unless there arts c in the meantime certain, eventual^ ies for which, provision is jnade,
