ACTIVITIES RENEWED
NEW ZEALANDERS1 ' ASSOCIATION
The Wellington Provincial New Zealanders' Association renewed its activities at a -well-attended meeting of the executive committee. The presi- ; dent (Mr. J. A. Shand), presided, and there were present Mesdamea C. J. Burnett and E. Rogers, Misses K. Black and P. Houghton, Messrs. W. A. Thomson (vice-president), A. Teague, E. Simpson, S. C. Ohilds, E. Williams, 1\ W. Buckley, P. C. McParland; and S. V. Knight. j It was .explained that though the assol! elation had gone into recess for a period, having decided Dot to collect members' •a übecriptions for the past year, the coinin, littec had been active. Tjynks principi illy ,to the ladies' committee it liad mi aterinlly assisted in the appeals of many ioi 'al institutions. By carefully husbanding its resources the association was in a very sat! sfactory position, and had a credit •balance of £21 9s 9d, and no liabilities. In conformity with its slogan, "Buy New Zed land-made Goods, and where that is impossible, buy British," the association ha [I assisted in various activities, with satrihtfaetory results.. l^-.W; A.'Thomson was unanimously eleott id vice-president, and additions were niafe'. to the executive committee, bringing at unj to full strength.

Another sub' wommittee was appointed to mate suggest fons as to the nature and extent of the association's social activities for the year..
A '.conference with Mr. Sinclair Gray (whorwas present by invitation), and other principals o£ the Young New Zealand ieagpa, was decided upon with a view of discu;is!'.ng a combination of forces or closer ico-operation.
It ■wws reported that steps were bring taken 'to bring the association in closer touch "with the New Zealand Leagues and AsKDciart ions in London, San Francisco, Shanghai, Vancouver, Sydney, and Melbourne.
