An excellent and interesting programme las been arranged for the first meeting of the year of the Wellington Shakespeare Society, which takes place in the Bristol 3alon next Thursday at 8 p.m. During the evening a lecturette will be given by Mr. Karl Atkinson on the music of Shakespeare's time. This should prove a very interesting lecturette. to those interested in music as well as in the works of the Immortal Bard. The lecturette will be illustrated by pianoforte selections and records specially' selected by the lecturer. Other items will include solos by Mrs. Wilfrid Andrews and Mr. J. Evelyn Rogers, and a reading of the final act of "The Merchant of Venice" by members of the society. Miss Mavis Dillon will be the solo pianist and accompanist. All interested in the works and music of Shakespeare are specially invited to be present. .
