DOLE TEAMING OFF
NOTES FROM TRENTHAM
(By "Rangatira.")
With little racing immediately, ahead, training operations have slackened off at Trentham, and there was no serious galloping this morning. Few if any of the centre's horses will be going to the Pahiatua Meeting, and the next racing for most of them will be at Easter.
Dole is still visiting the tracks, and looks wonderfully well, but he is now in the process of being trained off, as there are no other events he can contest this season. .
The Brentwood team is being kept going, and all are doing well, except Valdarado, who has a swollen hock as a result of getting his leg through, a fence. Eminent and Might have been nominated for the'O.J.C. Autumn Meeting, but they are more likely to do'their Easter, racing at Tauherenikau, Historic has been, sent out for a spell till next spring.
Cottesmore,. looking improved with his fwo recent races, did a conple of solid rounds muscling, up this morning. His Easter racing 'will also probably be at Tauherenikau. . ' • '
Solitaire EC, who has had a let-up for the past few weeks, was noticed back on the track, but Maypay, in the same stable, will probably not return till the winter. Autopay's Easter mission will not be decided till weights appear. Gay Court felt the hard ground on the opening day of- the recent Wellington Meeting, and he was very lame afterwards. He has been lightly blistered, and is back working again. There does not look much chance at present of his racing at Pahiatua.
The speedy Gisborne hack/: Good Hunting, is temporarily a stablemate to Gay Court, having been left with H. Benge iill after the Easter racing. He too, felt the Tr'eutham going, and he may not be produced again till softer tracks are encountered. -:
W. Stone has been at Trcntham this week with Conaterplay and Manchu who recently came upfromEiccarton The horses will probably be leaving shortly for Australia, where they will race during the late autumn and winXQTm . _ ■ ■ "" '■■">'■■
