THE NEW BROOM

GERMANY UNDER NAZIS

DOMESTIC POLICY

ANNOUNCED BY HITLER

EXTIRPATING COMMUNISM

(Received March 24, 11 a.m.)

BERLIN, March 23.

Denouncing the .devilish doctrine of Communism as exemplified in the burning of the Reichstag, - Herr Hitler, the Chancellor, addressing a crowded Reichstag, declared that attempts to identify the Nazis with the Reichs, tag fire would strengthen his determination to leave nothing undone to have the crime expiated soon by the public execution of the incendiarist and his accomplices. The extirpation of Communism in Germany was an internal affair, and the Government would not tolerate outside interference.

The restoration of the monarchy, he continued, was not a subject for discussion at the present. Any attempt by the States to solve the problem individually would be. regarded as an attack on the unity of the Reich. All religions would be treated with justice. Membership of a certain religion and a certain race would not confer exemption from the obligation to obey the law. The Government intended to avoid currency experiments.
