LODGE NOTES
The fortnightly meeting of Rahiri Rebekah. Lodge, No. 49, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held recently, Sister Milford, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. Official visits were received from* Bro. G.. Rudkin, D.D.G.M;, and officers of District Lodge, Rose of Wellington Lodge, Esther Rebekah, Lodge, and' Victoria Rebekah Lodge. Second nomination of officers took place. During the evening the Senior Ritual Competition was held, the winner being - Sister Smith, of Rose of Wellington Lodge, Bros. Rudkin and Smith adjudicating.
The fortnightly meeting of O-Kiwi-Iti Rebekah Lodge No. 44 was lield recently, Sister V. McPhee presiding over a fair attendance. Bro. F. F. Rudkin, D.D. G.ftf. was on an official visit and was1 accorded lodge honours, as was Bro. A. Evans, P.G., Maraenui 124. Second nomination of officers was taken. A challenge from Star of Petone for the "500" shield was accepted. Bro. G. F. Rudkin, after receiving a vote of welcome, gave a resume of various incidents of the Order, and conveyed fraternal greetings from his district. Bro. Evans suitably replied on behalf of Rahiri and Maraenui Lodges respectively. Bro. Lovett also brought greetings from Star of Napier and Kahuranaki Lodge, Hastings. After lodge routine was concluded all adjourned to Competitions. Sisters Westrup and Lawrence and Bros. Rudkin and Evans were the winners of the competitions.
Heretaunga Lodge No. 115, 1.0.0. F., held its meeting in the Oddfellows' Hall, Petone. Sick pay and medical refunds were passed and correspondence received attention. The first nomination of officers for the ensuing term -were received. The lodge received with regret the resignation from the position of secretary of Bro. G. Bugg, who has faithfully carried out the duty for several years. Bro. G. Budkin, D.D.G.M., was the principal visitor, and gave a very interesting address which received much attention. Bro. Evans, P.G., Maraenui Lodge, also congratulated the lodge, conveying fraternal greetings from Maranuai, Rahiri, and Wellesley Lodges, a pleasant evening ending with supper and cards. i A meeting of Wildey Lodge, 107, 1.0.0. F., Island Bay, was held recently, when Bro. W. F.-Wilkins, N.G., presided over a fair attendance of members. Bro. Eeilly, P.G., of Southern Cross Lodge, being a visitor. One member declared off the sick fund of the lodge, relative sick pay, together with general accounts, being passed for payment. Several invitations from kindred lodges were received for socials, and members generally signified their intentions of attending. One candidate attended for initiation and'admitted to membership, and one candidate was nominated to" become a member. It was proposed to leave over the dedication of the organ until the night of installation of officers early, in April, when the D.D.G.M. will perform the ceremony. The next meeting night, March 29, will be quarter night, when the election of officers for the new term will be the main order of business. Routine business concluded, the lodge was closed to allow o£ a card tourney and practice games. The usual meeting of Cleveland Lodge No. 13, 1.0.0. F., was held in Waldie's Hall, Brooklyn, recently. Bro. L. I. Mason, P.G., presided over a good attendance. One member reported sick. The nomination of officers for the ensuing term was dealt with; also the appointment of the various committees, invitations to social evenings were accepted. After the meeting the members adjourned for an snjoyable game of cards.
