PRIMARY PRODUCE CANADIAN STATE AID

AND EMPIRE TREATIES

BRITAIN MAY ACT

United Press Association—By Electric Tele-

graph—Copyright. (Received March 23, 1 p.m.)

OTTAWA, March 22.

A suggestion that the Budget Stabilisation. Fund for exports may violate Empire treaties was heard in Liberal circles, which claimed that the Canadian Government was involved :n a possible expenditure of CO cents in the pound 'with a secret knowledge that Britain was planning to bring pound and dollar closer to par.

It was recalled that Mr. Bennett demanded and obtained the abrogation of the Australian Treaty largely because Australia did what Canada now proposes to do. Conference agreements provide that Britain may take action against any Dominion shipping goods with State aid.
